Outreach
I am dedicated to participating in outreach events and opportunities, especially those for girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and hope one day to be able to design my own outreach events. I have been very fortunate to work with Louisiana State University Museum of Natural Sciences outreach team and the Auburn University Museum of Natural History outreach efforts.

Special Saturdays
LSU Museum of Natural Science Special Saturdays are museum centric events for elementary and middle school children. I have personally led multiple events focusing on fishes in extreme environments and animals living in caves. For both, the outreach team and I designed specific activities including a design-your-own fish with unique adaptations for extreme environments and sensory stations to relate to blind animals in caves. |
Girls Day at the Museum
LSU Department of Biological Sciences and Museum of Natural Science Girls Day at the Museum consists of multiple exhibits from different STEM departments at LSU aggregated into the Museum of Natural Science. Group Leaders bring small groups of girls ranging from grades 4-6 to each exhibit, where the girls are introduced to different STEM concepts through activities and demonstrations. It is a wonderful opportunity for girls to find their passion from a multitude of different STEM disciplines. |
AU Explore & Museum Open House
Auburn University College of Math and Science and the Museum of Natural History AU Explore is an annual event by the College of Math and Sciences for 5th to 8th graders across Alabama to visit and learn about multiple laboratories and research within Auburn. We provided tours of the museum and performed museum specimen showcases. |
